This is our botak or empty house.....alot of work to be done.

Nice view right......hehehe.....Have checked the house and found some cracks and hollow tiles. Pushing for HDB to work on the defects....so that my reno work can start.......not sure if in time to move in before the Chinese spooky festival.

Small place but good enough, price is also "affordable" with reference to our garment standards......as we have pay rental for the next 30years which by then im almost 2 feet into the wooden box. Its really scary how much a "affordable" flat of 92sqm could cost now. The price of flats are going up faster then i can finish typing my blog.......working so hard just to keep our head above the water, just to maintain a house and a family.

Our pay are not moving as fast as the prices of things. All the shops we went are telling us how this and that thing have increase in price due to this and that, but our bosses are not saying becoz of this and that we will up your salary.

Keeping our finger cross, we have the $$ to completed what we have started. For those who have visited, thanks for coming, for those who have yet to come but wish to drop by, please feel free to contact us. 

20th June 2012 - The Keys Collection Day!

6313 is a lucky number, and a number for us to be another HDB debtor. Our appointment time was 1.10pm but we were there at 12.45pm. Lunch became optional. As 12-1pm was HDB "feeding" time, therefore the Q-number was not moving. But straight after 1pm the number started jumping, and before we know, we are on our way in. Song! (Feeling Good)

After sitting down in front of the HDB officer, the process of signing begin. "Sir/Madam.....this one is......sign here, sign there........and at the end of 40min, Sir/Madam, Congrats, here are your Keys.....and Good luck, Remember every month we will collect this and that $$$ from you! :(

Now that our house is here, our saving are flowing out like an open tapz! wahahaha.......It's a great feeling. Now to put more pressure on my ID to fast commence work.

The Time have come!!

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, so before i switch off the computer i thou why not check the HDB website to see if there was any updates.

Then i saw the "Holy" message! You will receive your keys to your new flat on 20th June 2012 @ 1.10pm! I then turn to my wife, who have long lost the war against the Zzzz Monster. I gently whisper into her ear that we will be getting our keys in june. At first, she had no reaction, just a "hummmm" reply which means ok....

Then she open her eyes and ask me if i check the internet, then she goes on to talk about a list of things we need to follow up. I was so happy that i was not able to sleep from 2am-4am, which was the last time i saw the time. Thou i only slept for 2 hrs, the whole day i was feeling "High"!! So high that my brain is so activity.

So the next day i try to put some pressure on my ID, by telling him that we are getting keys on the 20th this month, which is about 1 week away. He then told me the 3D drawing for my house is also completed and here they are! Superb! I Love it! 

This our first 3D drawing of our living room, the software is really good, it make it look so real. It give us an ideal what our house would look like. I think its simple and nice. With the track lights, black piping, the ceiling looks interesting. But the brick wall seem abit small, might want to extend further. The whole thing about getting our house keys is not so much about owning a house, but more of a moving on in life. From single, to dating, to marriage preparing, to a couple, to have our love nest, and maybe the next "Gen" is a form of moving ahead in life. It's fun to be able to move on!! Wed here i come!

Robert Timms - Our Experience

This Robert Timms outlet is located at Wheelock place at Orchard Road. My first impression was that this place is like any other coffee place, serving cheese cake and some finger food. This place was introduce by my wife's "crazy" friend, and my wife intro to me.

Our first experience together was on one Sunday afternoon, as usual we woke up at a time when most people have already finish their lunch. My wife's favorite is to eat the All-American breakfast at anytime of the day.

Scrambled Eggs and sausage

Just take a look at how fresh the vegetables and tomato are! The scrambled eggs are my wife's favorite! they look chunky but the are only about 80% cook. With still a little liquid york floating around the bread, you just feel like sucking it off the bread. The price a abit on the high side, but i guess it's ok to pamper yourself once in awhile. Its sure finger licking good!!

Criss cut fries serve with macho cheese sauce - it our favorite, or any fries that serve with cheese sauce will be well receive by us. But please please take note that the serving is huge! For our first outing to Robert Timms, we were very hungry, so we ordered a criss cut fries,  2x  breakfast set and a pot of tea. Thinking that is only 2 mains and a side, we should be able to manage. The next thing we know, the waitress started to merge the table beside with ours. So we thou maybe the plates are just big. But our guess were wrong and very wrong, and YOU HAVE BEEN WARN!! Dont try doing this on your first date, you will end up walking with a "hump" in front of you.

This breakfast meal have bacon, 2 different types of sausage, a piece of hamburger, 2 slice of ham and bread. This will fill you up the whole day.

My favorite

This Steak is my "love" - Weighting at about 650grams, serve with black pepper sauce, it's a dream for all steak lover. I ask for it to be done in medium well, and they did it perfectly. Although its a big piece of steak, it does not taste tough.

Most of the time when we visit it not very crowded, guess maybe we went at weird timing. But it a quiet and cozy place to dine and slow the pace of live down abit. I shall go soon, Miss the steak liao!!

Tender Award - Ideal House

It's has been a while since we spoke to the ideal house ID Daniel, he was the first ID that we have met, but have been forgotten, as we were busy looking for what we wanted in our house. We in fact have another ID in mind, but she slowly fade away. Daniel was our second choice. His luck was in fact good, he called us when we start to lose confidence with our first choice.

After comparing daniel with all the ID we have met, he seem sincere and "on the ball". So we have a second and third meeting with him to confirm our design so that he could give us a quote for reno. So we finally award our reno project to him. I feel choosing a reno contractor is abit like gambling. At first you base on the first impression to see if you want to even talk more with him/her. Then you go thru the quotation if the total price is within your budget. If both are ok, then you might want to talk further with him/her. When you consider signing with the firm, you would think about workmanship issue. But then again, workmanship to individual will be different. Some can "tahan" mistake or wall paint not even, some everything also ok......so this part is really a gamble. What is good and what is bad.....go by Conquas 21 standard? What is a standard set by BCA.

Our think is, if we choose this firm to do our project, we will have to bare with what is to come. Good then good for us, if Jaliat then too bad for us lor. But tiling should be done with reference to BCA standard. B'coz, flooring os something that is very very difficult to change when everything is move in. Wardrobe or other build in stuff can still be added along the way, but flooring will not be possible.

 

Our Design (To be improve)

Not much changes but we have decided to cement screed the Tv wall area, dining, the whole kitchen. The rest we shall not review, so that if our friends come there will be some kind of surprise, hopefully the right kind of surprise. I could see myself living in this design. It's a small house but big enough, and we know what we want to do to the house, which we are looking forward to do together.

The room closes to the living area will be the study room, mainly for me, coz poor me have to go back to school for the next 3.5 years, hopefully no "Tabao". Anyway study is also for a better future.

The Second room, i would call it the Wife's room, coz her 12ft = 3.6m wardrobe will be there. Will a full height mirror, with some cozy lighting. There she would also have place to store her books(which she have and have not started reading). It would be my wife cozy corner.

The last place would be the area where we sleep......so there is nothing much to talk about.

Long ago, when my wife and i was attended the premarital counseling the counsellor was saying, money is not everything, but without money you cant do anything. I'm just happy that we have the money to do the things we want. I was lucky to have my wife support all this time, and is still luck to have her. She would know best the tough time we went thru together.......Hope i will be able to provide more for her.

Now we wait at the edge of our seat for the 3D drawing from our ID........and the forever far away house keys.......it's so so disappointed to see people moving into the estate and i can only stare at my unit from the ground up. So PLease the High and Holy HDB (How Disappointing Board), release my house key......

SO till the 3D is out, i have nothing to write liao......think i shall talk about my other Love (Food)!!

The above are some of the items we have found in singapore. This shop collect old furniture and refurbish it and sell them out. But the clock is my all times favorite. I still see it at my grandparent place. Now i have mine own, it does not work on battery. Sometimes old things bring back memories.

We went to Blk 24 level 23 (i think), and just nice a uncle was there in his house. He welcome us into his 4 room flat to take a look. Super Friendly uncle with many tattoos all over his body. The house would look about the same as our floor plans. Can't wait to do up our house. Ok, feel like moving on to other topic liao.
